LNY is distinguished statewide as a premier training, technical assistance, and curriculum development organization.
The LNY network advocates for effective public policy and to increase awareness of adult literacy and English language acquisition.
Low-level reading and math skills are the common thread of poverty, incarceration, high dropout rates in schools, and a barrier to understanding basic health, financial and consumer issues.

Literacy New York (LNY) provides training and technical assistance to a diverse network of volunteer-based literacy organizations and supports their capacity to be well-managed, well-governed and to provide quality instruction.
The LNY network offers one-to-one tutoring, small group instruction and distance training/instruction in Basic Literacy, English Language Learning, Math, Workplace and other Basic Skills. LNY works with the network to expand the scope and reach of volunteers in education in over 55 NY State counties.
